Assassin's Creed, Splinter Cell Movies Already In Line For Sequels

by Connor Trinske on Mar 24, 2016 at 07:37 AM

The film adaptations of Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed and Splinter Cell properties might become franchises before their first movies are even released. Variety reports that the films' production company is hoping to give both IPs the "sequel treatment."

New Regency is producing both movies while the Taiwanese corporation Catchplay is co-financing them. The CEO of Catchplay recently said that the films are "both adaptations of successful Ubisoft games and would make for ideal sequels."

The upcoming Assassin's Creed movie is in post-production, and will be released in theaters across the world on December 21. Splinter Cell is set to star Tom Hardy in the lead role, and is predicted to see release in 2017.
