Post-Apocalyptic Survival Game Sheltered Is Launching On Consoles And PC Next Week

by Connor Trinske on Mar 10, 2016 at 07:31 AM

Sheltered, a post-apocalyptic survival game from indie team Unicube, is coming out very soon. It will be available for download on PS4, Xbox One, and PC on March 15.

The game charges you with protecting and providing for your family in the wake of a global nuclear holocaust. Your underground shelter, located in the middle of a desolate wasteland, is the key to survival while you fend off things like invaders, claustrophobia and radiation. You can customize your initial family of four, but you have to choose whether or not to bring more people in as you strive to maintain peace and sanity in your home.

Death is permanent in Sheltered, so a family member could be lost forever as the result of a bad decision. There will also be a lot of resource-gathering and moral quandaries to deal with when the game comes out next week for $14.99.

Our Take
Sheltered sounds similar to 2014's This War of Mine, with its survival micromanagement and interpersonal drama in the face of war. However, it seems like players will have to venture outside much more often than in This War of Mine if they want to endure in this world's unforgiving remains.
