Nintendo Announces Plans For Three New Splatoon Updates

by Brian Shea on Mar 03, 2016 at 10:10 AM

Nintendo has announced that it isn't quite done updating Splatoon, its surprising third-person shooter hit from last year. To this point, all updates have been free to players, and Nintendo is continuing that trend with these new updates.

The first update seeks to improve lesser-used abilities to make them more appealing for players. It will also include tweaks to ranked battle matchmaking and new elements for the game's special Splatfest events. This first update will become available on March 8.

Nintendo will also be releasing new weapons through two separate updates. These updates will deliver new variants on popular weapons. The first part of these updates will be arriving in April.

Splatoon released last year to above average reviews, but Nintendo has steadily improved the gameplay and content through free updates such as these.
