Stream Your PS4 To PC And Mac When Update 3.5 Arrives

by Mike Futter on Mar 01, 2016 at 01:44 AM

The beta for PlayStation 4’s next big update is right around the corner. And while many of the features will be available to those who have signed up and been accepted. One major feature won’t be available quite yet, though.

When update 3.5 arrives, you’ll be able to stream your PlayStation 4 to PC or Mac. Specific details on how this will work haven’t been revealed yet, but Sony is calling it “Remote Play,” the same as on Vita and the ill-fated PlayStation TV.

Also in the next update, players will be able to appear offline, see when their friends sign on, schedule play dates with friends, and stream to Dailymotion (joining Twitch and YouTube). The beta begins tomorrow.

Our Take
I use Xbox One streaming to my laptop so my son can play without being in my office. The same feature on PlayStation 4 will get plenty of use in my house.
