Counter-Strike: GO Major Championship Prize Pools Increase To $1 Million

Counter-Strike: GO's championship competitions just got a whole lot more valuable.

In a brief announcement on Counter-Strike: GO's website, it revealed an increase in prize pool values, thanks to overall increased interest in the game.

Professional CS:GO has grown, and the CS:GO Major Championships are about to grow with it. We’re pleased to announce that beginning with MLG Columbus 2016, each CS:GO Major Championship prize pool will be $1,000,000. We look forward to another great year of CS:GO competition.

We recently ranked our top 10 PC exclusive games of the last five years, and though Counter-Strike: GO did not make the cut (it is available on consoles, as well), it was certainly part of the discussion. You can read that list here.
