Todd Howard Urges EA Sports To Make Another NCAA Football

by Matt Bertz on Feb 18, 2016 at 08:38 AM

Thanks to a lengthy legal battle with former NCAA athletes over their player likenesses appearing in EA Sports games that ultimately resulted in a $60 million settlement, in 2013 the publisher announced it was walking away from its popular NCAA Football franchise. Count Elder Scrolls and Fallout creator Todd Howard among the fans who lament its absence.

During his chat with Pete Holmes on the D.I.C.E. stage, Howard brought up the dormant series. "NCAA Football is one of my favorite games," he said. "While I'm here, EA can you make NCAA Football again please? We talk about games being important. That game honestly was important to me. I would play and win the national championship and recruit my team...the pride I felt in doing it, I felt good during the day if I won, and I felt bad if I lost. Now that they don't make it anymore there is a hole in my life."

Chances of that happening are slim given the legal and licensing hurdles, but one can always hope.
