Lego Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures Coming To Disney XD This Summer

by Luke Walaszek on Feb 11, 2016 at 08:14 AM

A new animated Lego Star Wars television series was announced today. Lego Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures is set between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi and will introduce new heroes and villains into the Star Wars universe.

The tone of The Freemaker Adventures will be familiar to anyone who’s played a Lego Star Wars video game. StarWars.com describes the series as whimsical and promises to deliver on the lighthearted adventure fans have come to expect from the franchise.

The series stars a family of scavengers called the Freemakers who build and sell starships made from scavenged scraps. Soon, the youngest of the pack discovers a sensitivity to the force through a connection with an ancient lightsaber.

It’s been a big day for Star Wars fans. It was announced earlier that filming for Episode VIII has officially begun.

This is the first time Lego has produced a television series for Disney XD. For the brick-by-brick breakdown on more Lego Star Wars news, head on over to our Lego: The Force Awakens cover story hub
