by Kyle Hilliard on Feb 09, 2016 at 02:54 PM

A showrunner for the upcoming Star Trek TV series has been selected, and he has roots in past Star Trek TV shows, and shows like Pushing Daisies and Hannibal.

Bryan Fuller has been named the new Star Trek TV show's co-creator and will also have a credit as an executive producer. Along with the shows mentioned above, Fuller also created on Dead Like Me and was a writer on Deep Space Nine and Voyager. Fuller joins (and now shares a title with) executive producer Alex Kurtzman, who co-wrote the two Star Trek reboot films.

Additional details, like cast, what Star Trek timeline it will take place in, etc., are not available. The show is set to air in 2017 on CBS' on-demand and streaming platform, CBS All Access.
