The New Ghostbusters Get Their First Impressive Cast Shot

by Mike Futter on Dec 18, 2015 at 11:10 AM

There’s a new Ghostbusters film coming next year, and the quartet of Venkman, Stanz, Spengler, and Zeddemore aren’t the stars. The upcoming movie stars a brand new cast of young comedians.

The new crop of New York’s finest is played by Melissa McCarthy (Bridesmaids), Kate McKinnon (Saturday Night Live), Kristin Wiig (Saturday Night Live), and Leslie Jones (Saturday Night Live). Yes, that’s a lot of Saturday Night Live, which was also home to original Ghostbusters cast members Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd. Harold Ramis, who played Egon Spengler, worked with the pair at Second City improv comedy theatre.

In addition to the very green new image above, posters for each of the four were revealed last night. You can see them over at Ain’t It Cool News.

Ghostbusters is due out on July 15, 2016. The movie is directed by Paul Feig and also stars Chris Hemsworth, Charles Dance, and Michael Kenneth Williams.
