The New Ratchet And Clank Game Is Releasing This April [Gameplay Footage Added]

Update: Sony has published the extended gameplay footage from the PlayStation Experience press conference online.

Original story:

It's hard to believe it has been 13 years since Ratchet and Clank first debuted, but since then Insomniac's fun duo has continued to capture our hearts. Insomniac's Ted Price took the stage at Sony's PlayStation Experience keynote to discuss more about the upcoming game and movie. He also left us with plenty of footage and provided a release date for both.

The new Ratchet and Clank game is a reimagining of the first game and based off the upcoming movie. But as Price said, the game it's more than a simple remake - it features new controls, new planets, new boss fights, and more. After showing the touching scene of how Ratchet and Clank first meet, Insomniac showed an extensive look at the gameplay. It's what you'd expect; Ratchet navigates the world, collects bolts, and shoots up baddies, but the gameplay looks super tight and refined. It's a far cry from the series' beginnings and looks to have all the fun we expect from the franchise.

The new game simply titled Ratchet and Clank debuts April 12 on PlayStation 4. The movie hits on April 28.
