Meet The Two Newest Members Of Team Game Informer!

by Matt Bertz on Dec 04, 2015 at 07:47 AM

Game Informer is adding to the family. Today we're happy to announce the hiring of a new associate editor and graphic designer.

Our latest edition to the editorial staff is Javy Gwaltney, who joins us from the freelance world. You may have come across his work at Playboy, Paste, Killscreen, Vice, and other publications. Or perhaps you played his indie text adventure The Terror Aboard the Speedwell. Javy (pronounced jay-vee) has been fascinated by games ever since his father brought home a PC with Warcraft and Hover! installed and plopped it down in front of him. A demo for Half-life spurred his interest in the medium to full-blown obsession, leading him across galaxies and beneath seas, letting him explore a myriad of interactive universes. You can learn more about him by reading his introductory blog or by following him on Twitter here.

Jen Vinson is bolstering our production department as our newest graphic designer. Jen grew up in the Twin Cities and went to school at the University of Minnesota for graphic design and mass communication with the goal of landing a job designing at Game Informer.  Her passion for video games began as a youngster with Mortal Kombat 2 for the SNES. She spent her days with the neighbor kids jumping off of picnic tables and acting out fatalities in the back yard. (She was always Sonya Blade, FYI.) When she isn't at Game Informer, Jen can be found slaying the Reapers, binge-watching Netflix, fostering neglected dogs, and running around in elaborate costumes. You can follow her on Twitter here.

Please give our newest team members a warm welcome! And for those wondering, yes, the second associate editor position is still open. You can learn more about the job details here
