by Marcus Stewart on Dec 01, 2015 at 06:50 AM

The first closed beta for fantasy MMO Black Desert Online is scheduled to begin December 16 (at 7 a.m.) and run until December 22. If you’re interested in diving into the action-heavy RPG, you can sign up to participate in the beta beginning today.

Registration remains open until December 9th at 8 a.m. UTC. The closed beta will feature improvements in character customization and weather cycles, reworked class balancing, the inclusion of a much-requested walking mode, fully localized English text, and more. Developed and released by Korean developer Pearl Abyss in 2014, Black Desert Online is set to fully launch in North America and Europe early next year.

Players who pre-purchased the Conqueror's content package gain automatic access to the beta. Everyone else needs to visit Black Desert Online’s official website to register

Our Take
I'm far from an MMO player, but after watching a few gameplay trailers, Black Desrt Online has piqued my interest.  The frenzied, combo-heavy combat looks pretty sweet and each class looks like a blast to play. Black Desert Online could be a title to keep an eye on.
