Movie Commentary Site Rifftrax Lambasts '80s Cult Classic, The Wizard

by Marcus Stewart on Nov 23, 2015 at 09:58 AM

Gamers who grew up in the '80s likely remember The Wizard, the Nintendo-centric film about three kids traveling to California to enter a video game competition, which provided moviegoers with an early glimpse of Super Mario Bros. 3. The film is as bad as Lucas' Power Glove, something commentary site Rifftrax makes a point of hammering home.

Rifftrax provides humorous commentaries that "riff" on terrible films, and is comprised of Mystery Science Theater 3000 alumni Mike Nelson, Kevin Murphy, and Bill Corbett. The site offers downloadable commentary tracks, which listeners play alongside a copy of the film in question (with instructions such as when to pause/play the film). Considering The Wizard is bursting at the seams with awful material to rip on, this should be an especially good one for gamers.

Both the full film and commentary track are available for purchase together for $9.99 at Rifftrax's website
