Overwatch Holding Beta Test Weekend This Friday

by Marcus Stewart on Nov 17, 2015 at 11:58 AM

This weekend, additional players can hop into the Overwatch closed beta during a limited, invitation-only Beta Test Weekend. Players from the U.S. and Europe can hop into Blizzard’s hero-based shooter to help stress test servers and provide feedback.

Testing begins Friday, November 20 at 9 a.m. PT on Friday and concludes the same time the following Monday, November 23. To prepare new players ahead of time, Blizzard will flag accounts during a scheduled maintenance on Thursday providing notice to download and install the beta client so they’ll be ready to go come Friday.

Beta Test Weekend is set to feature the full 21-hero roster, available to all, as well as three maps: Hanamura, King’s Row, and Watchpoint: Gibraltar. For more details on what the beta entails, visit the official blog post.

Overwatch launches on PC and current-gen consoles next spring.

Our Take
This sounds like a nice opportunity for players who missed out on the closed beta to (hopefully) jump in on this one. Be sure to keep an eye on your Battle.net accounts on Thursday to see if you've been invited.
