Report: Dark Souls III Receiving Multiple Collector's Editions

by Brian Shea on Nov 09, 2015 at 02:30 PM

Many of the dangers that will be delivered by Dark Souls III when it launches next year are still shrouded in mystery, but we might now have an early glimpse at two potential collector's editions for From Software's upcoming action game.

A retailer based in the United Arab Emirates called Geekay Games has listed two separate collector's editions of Dark Souls III for pre-order. The first one, simply known as the Collector Edition (above), includes a copy of the game in a collector's box and a metal case, a hardcover artbook, the game's soundtrack, a cloth game map, three iron-on patches, and a 25 centimeter Red Knight figurine. The Prestige Edition (below), features the same contents, only the 25 centimeter Red Knight figurine is replaced by a mammoth 40 centimeter Lord of Cinder figurine. When run through a currency converter, the Collector Edition listed comes out to roughly $136, while the Prestige Edition would cost around $490.

Dark Souls III hits on April 12, 2016. Hopefully we will learn more about whether or not these reported collector's editions will come stateside soon. If you'd like to learn more about Dark Souls III, you can check out our cover story hub below.

Our Take
While we don't have official confirmation from Bandai Namco, these images look fairly legitimate. Unfortunately, just because a retailer in another country lists it doesn't mean it will ever come to the United States. Even if they do, would you spend nearly $500 on that package?
