DayZ Won’t Arrive On Xbox One Game Preview In 2015

by Mike Futter on Nov 06, 2015 at 04:11 AM

Bohemia Interactive is refocusing its efforts on the upcoming full release of DayZ. To that end, console players will need to wait a bit longer as the team puts its efforts elsewhere.

The studio announced the information on Twitter, also providing an updated road map for its PC release. The game was scheduled to arrive on Xbox One’s preview program this year. That has now been delayed until first quarter 2016. A version has also been announced for PlayStation 4.

Bohemia Interactive says that the PC version will move from alpha to beta this quarter. The final version will be out in the first half of 2016.

Our Take
Day Z as a standalone game has been in early access for 23 months. That’s on top of the nearly two years the mod was available for Arma II. It’s been flying under the radar, and I suspect that after so long being available to the public, a full release won’t meet much fanfare.
