Super Hexagon Gets A 60 FPS 2.0 Update On iOS

by Kyle Hilliard on Nov 04, 2015 at 02:39 PM

Terry Cavanagh's hard to play, even harder to put down 2012 mobile hit, Super Hexagon, recently receieved a free 2.0 update.

The 2.0 update gives the game a new engine which makes it run smoother, and look a lot sharper. The game now has retina display support on iOS and runs at 60 FPS. It's unclear if the update is heading to other platforms like Android at this time.

For some more perspective on Super Hexagon, check out this blog post from Tim Turi about his time with the game.

Our Take
I got into some furious high-score battling with Game Informer editors shortly after the release of Super Hexagon. For a brief shining moment, I even held the highest, until former editor Dan Ryckert and Tim Turi quickly bested me. It was a wonderful couple of hours and I will always remember it fondly. Now seems like a great time to revisit the game.
