Reader Discussion: Do You Like Live Action Video Game Commercials?
Video game commercials often go the live action route these days. Do you like it? Or would rather see gameplay, or something pre-rendered?
Personally, I don't like the live action trend. I understand the argument that pre-rendered commercials have the capability to trick consumers into a false set of expectations for how a game will look, but they look closer, at least, than live action does. There is too much of a disconnect between live action and video game visuals for my taste. Plus, it makes my parents think all video games looks like generic action for fantasy films. My favorite is definitely when pure gameplay can be used in a commercial, but that's pretty rare these days.
What about you? Do you like live action video game commercials? Or do you prefer something different?
