Boundless Looks Like A Mythical Minecraft With Hammers

by Jeff Marchiafava on Oct 27, 2015 at 07:39 AM

Today at Paris Games Show, Sony showed off a new open-world game that should pique the interest of Minecraft fans.

Sony revealed a short gameplay video of Boundless, a newly announced open-world game that appears to give the blocky worlds of Minecraft a mythical makeover. In the video, the player walked around with a giant hammer (seen in the lower right-hand corner of the image above) while checking out weird alien creatures and dimension-hopping portals. The jagged landscapes suggest the game will be voxel-based, but the environments, lighting, and character models are a clear step up from Minecraft.

Boundless is a PlayStation exclusive, and is scheduled for a 2016 release.
