Disney Infinity Star Wars: The Force Awakens Playset And Figures Detailed

by Mike Futter on Oct 12, 2015 at 03:09 AM

At New York Comic Con this weekend, the Disney Infinity panel was a boisterous celebration of the new Marvel content coming next year. During the discussion, Infinity vice president of production John Vignocchi teased an announcement for this week. With Star Wars: The Force Awakens just two months away, we now know how it will be incorporated into the toys-to-life game.

The previously revealed Rey and Finn figures are bundled in with the playset. These were first shown off at Disney's D23 event in August.

Additionally, X-Wing pilot Poe Dameron and lightsaber-wielding Kylo Ren have been revealed with images. There will also be a new set of four power discs. However, the placeholder image that has emerged online shows question marks instead of the disc art. The playset, figures, and power disc set launch alongside The Force Awakens' theatrical release on December 18.

Thanks to reader Scott Burress for the tip.

Our Take
Given the pattern of figure releases for playsets, one more hero and a villain makes sense. Hopefully, there's still a Captain Phasma figure yet to be revealed. At the panel on Saturday, Vignocchi mentioned huge fan demand for one or more stormtrooper figures, too. However, it sounded like those might not be in the cards for 3.0.
