Materia Collective Releases 'Final Fantasy VII Remixed' Soundtrack

by Brian Shea on Oct 10, 2015 at 07:01 AM

Materia Collective has released its debut album in celebration of this past summer's announcement that Final Fantasy VII is getting the HD remake treatment. The album features the soundtrack of the beloved RPG from the original PlayStation remixed and re-imagined by the newly-formed group of industry musicians.

Materia: Final Fantasy VII Remixed gathers more than 200 musicians from the game industry to pay tribute to Nobuo Uematsu's classic soundtrack. The album is a five-disc project that features collaborations from remixers, performers, YouTube personalities, and composers who work in the video game industry.

If you'd like to get a taste of what's found on this album, you can listen to some snippets in the launch trailer below.

Materia Collective is a group that was started at E3 2015 following the announcement of the Final Fantasy VII remake, making its debut album an appropriate starting point for the group. Materia: Final Fantasy VII Remixed is available to purchase now on Loudr and iTunes, and can be listened to on Spotify.
