Massive Chalice Lead Developer Joins Valve

by Joseph Knoop on Oct 07, 2015 at 12:05 PM

Ex-Double Fine Productions team member Brad Muir announced on Twitter today that he will begin working with Valve Studios in December, according to a report by GamesIndustry.biz. The move comes after news of his departure from Double Fine last week, after having worked there for 12 years.

Muir is most noted for his role as a designer on Brutal Legend and project lead on Iron Brigade. He also acted as project lead on the recently Kickstarted Massive Chalice.

Muir has yet to announce what projects he'll be involved in, if any, though it's likely to be a development role given his career history. Valve's studio is located in Bellevue, Washington.

Our Take
There's nothing to suggest Muir will be involved with any of Valve's technology projects like the HTC Vive/SteamVR, so it will more than likely be as project lead or co-lead on an unannounced title. Wait...Muir worked at Double Fine for 12 years. 12 is written by typing "1" and "2" together. "3" comes after "2." Half-Life 3 confirmed!
