"World Of Thrones" Azeroth Animated In A Game Of Thrones-Style Intro
When it comes to fictional realms, Azeroth and Westeros might not share a whole lot in common, but that hasn’t stopped high fantasy buffs from latching onto both worlds. Now a talented animator has blended them together, animating a World of Warcraft intro based on the one from HBO’s hit series, Game of Thrones.
Marc Ottensmann wrote on his YouTube channel that he started working on the intro a year ago and finished it as a final project for an animation class at his university. From Orgrimmar to Stormwind, the video swoops over Azeroth’s major landmarks as they rise and spin out of the ground. Ottensmann claimed his intro isn’t as great as the one HBO came up with, but hints there might be a second “World of Thrones” video in the future. For now, the current clip is already a fun pop-cultural crossover. I hope his professor thought so, too.
