Adr1ft Has Been Hand-Selected As An Oculus Rift Launch Title, Releasing 2016

by Ben Reeves on Sep 24, 2015 at 02:25 PM

We've been eagerly awaiting the release of the Oculus Rift for several years now, but when the system finally releases early next year, one of the first game's you'll be able to play on this VR rig is Three One Zero's space survival adventure, Adrift.

For more on Adr1ft, check out the game's E3 trailer. Then read our interview with Oculus CEO Brendan Iribe, who dives into the company’s decision to price the Rift and what he thinks it’s going to take to convince customers to bring the first consumer Rift home.

Update: We've confirmed that Adr1ft has been delayed on all platforms (Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC) until early 2016.

Our Take
This is good news for Oculus. The company needs some killer apps that will bring people to the system, and while Adr1ft isn't the biggest name in the industry, its a good looking game. Hopefully, we'll hear more about Oculus Rift's launch lineup – including a date – shortly.
