Sword Coast Legends Delayed Until Next Month On PC, Console Versions Land In 2016

by Mike Futter on Sep 22, 2015 at 03:35 AM

N-Space’s foray into the world of Dungeons & Dragons needs a bit more time before release. Sword Coast Legends was previously scheduled for release next week, but will instead be arriving next month.

In an attempt to bring the tabletop experience to the digital realm, n-Space and Digital Extremes have created a cooperative experience that also supports a Dungeon Master. Players can create their own adventures for their friends or follow those built into the game.

The PC, Mac, and Linux versions are now scheduled for October 20. Those that pre-ordered can get in on the second “head start” phase, which is underway. Additionally, those that jump in early will have access to the Rage of Demons DLC module at no additional cost.

Additionally, the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions have been bumped to Q1 2016. For more on Sword Coast Legends, check out our preview from E3.

Our Take
Given that this delay comes as a result of head start (early access) testing, it seems that process is working as intended. Giving those that pre-ordered more content as compensation for the delay (while dropping a major patch to kick off a second head start phase) is the right move.
