[Update] New Mortal Kombat Characters, Skins, Stage Coming 2016

by Mike Futter on Sep 03, 2015 at 03:18 AM

Update: Warner Bros. has confirmed new DLC for Mortal Kombat X. While the specifics aren't announced, we know that new characters, skins, and a stage will be coming in the first half of 2016.

Original Story (September 2, 2015 @ 3:42 p.m. Central):

Surprising no one, it seems that WB Games and NetherRealm are planning to deliver another four DLC characters for Mortal Kombat X. It also appears we won’t need to wait long to find out who they are.

Taking to Twitter in typical Ed Boon fashion, the creative mind behind the Mortal Kombat series is not-so-subtly teasing the reveal. The first set of four characters is settled and done, with Tanya, Tremor, Jason Voorhees, and the Predator comprising the first season pass.

NetherRealm doubled up on DLC for Injustice: Gods Among Us, upping the DLC count from four with Mortal Kombat on last-gen consoles to eight. We’re not sure who to expect, but the character on the left looks like he might be a ninja. Perhaps Smoke or Rain are joining the roster.

Sindel and Baraka would also make sense since they appear in the story as opponents. Any guesses on who else we’ll be seeing join the fight?
