Recently, Square Enix sat down members of the original Deus Ex team to playthrough the 15-year-old game. Today, the publisher has shared a similar retrospective featuring current members of the team.

Executive game director Jean-François Dugas and executive art director Jonathan Jacques-Belletête play through 45 minutes of Deus Ex: Human Revolution. In addition to discussing the art design and the evolution of characters like the pilot, Malik, there are some amusing bits.

During the discussion, the pair reveal some of the technical challenges encountered along the way. They also reveal animation oddities that weren’t fixed until the end of development (if at all).

With Deus Ex: Mankind Divided coming next year, this might help get you up to speed (or inspire you to play Human Revolution again). For more on Mankind Divided, check out our coverage from the May 2015 issue.

Our Take
I absolutely loved Human Revolution (and managed to finish without killing a single enemy). I’m looking forward to making that kind of run on Mankind Divided when it arrives next year.
