The Road Ahead For Driveclub

by Matthew Kato on Aug 20, 2015 at 06:44 AM

It hasn't been the smoothest of roads for Driveclub, but kudos to developer Evolution Studios for keeping its foot on the gas in crafting the game, supporting it, and delivering on the PlayStation Plus Edition as promised. Now the studio is looking ahead to what's next for the racer.

In a post on the Official PlayStation Blog, Jamie Brayshaw, community developer manager at Evolution, outlined some of the things in store for fans in future updates: new difficulty and photo mode options, more tracks, tuning tweaks for drift mode, customizable multiplayer lobbies, and more.

Also announced is a double XP event for the 15 cars available in the game's PS Plus Edition. The event starts today and goes through Monday, August 24.

Our Take
Great to hear that even with the restructuring, that the studio is still very much committed to the game. Beyond the updates, I'm curious if there will be an full-on sequel or if they'll explore the possibility of a paid add-on of substance. Excited to see where things go from here.
