Volume Is Delayed On Vita, But Cross-Buy Still Applies

by Mike Futter on Aug 17, 2015 at 11:53 AM

Mike Bithell has announced that Volume won’t be making its handheld debut tomorrow. The title will hit PlayStation 4 and PC as planned, but the Vita version will be along in a couple of weeks.

For those of you planning on taking advantage of the cross-buy option on Sony systems, you’ll still get the benefit of that offer. Purchasing on PlayStation 4 will entitle you to the Vita version when it’s available.

Bithell says that version is done, but needs a bit of QA and certification before it can be released into the wild. “The party still starts on August 18,” Bithell says. “It’s just that the Vita, the coolest of all the kids, will be arriving a little fashionably late.”

Our Take
While this is certainly unfortunate for those looking to bounce back and forth between the living room and handheld versions tomorrow, this is better than pushing the Vita version out the door too early. The most important part is that cross-buy is still in effect.
