Grand Theft Auto V Shipments Jump To 54 Million On PC Release, No Comment On DLC
In its first quarter of the current fiscal year, Take-Two shipped Grand Theft Auto V on PC. That spurred the latest entry’s shipments another 9 million.
The company announced on its first quarter earnings call that sales of GTA V have reached 54 million across platforms. This is up from 45 million as of March 31.
The company also declined to say anything about the long-anticipated story DLC that has been expected since release. For more on Take-Two’s earnings, you can check out our coverage of the company’s mixed results.
Our Take
Take-Two still isn’t talking about story DLC for Grand Theft Auto V. The publisher could be backing off the idea, or Rockstar might simply have been focused on releasing current-gen console and PC versions. Regardless, some assurance that it’s still happening would be great, especially after last quarter’s confusion.
