Nintendo Details Release Information For Next Two Bursts Of Amiibos

by Brian Shea on Aug 05, 2015 at 04:45 AM

Nintendo has announced when the next of its popular Amiibo figures will hit store shelves. Starting on September 11, collectors and Nintendo enthusiasts are able to try and grab the newest characters.

The next wave of Amiibos could be the most varied yet, as fans will have the ability to choose between Olimar, Zero Suit Samus, Dr. Mario, Bowser Jr., and Ganondorf. In addition, a special 30th Anniversary Mario Amiibo will release to coincide with the launch of Super Mario Maker on Wii U. The Amiibo is styled after Mario's classic colors as the character appears in the original Super Mario Bros. The 30th Anniversary Mario Amiibo will also be available in Mario's modern red and blue color scheme, but Nintendo will reveal more details on that in the future.

Nintendo has also announced that a bundle of new Amiibos will launch a little bit later in the month. The Retro 3 Pack contains Duck Hunt, R.O.B., and Mr. Game & Watch Amiibos and will release on September 25. The company says that pre-order specifics and other availability information on this bundle will be announced by retailers in coming days.

The release date for the Mii Fighter figures has not only been pushed from September to November, but Nintendo also announced that the figures will only be available as a pack of three as well. More information on all of these figures is expected to be announced as retailers prepare for the launches.
