Rare Replay Includes Glimpses At Unreleased Rare Games

by Brian Shea on Aug 03, 2015 at 11:01 AM

This week's Rare Replay brings you a studio lifetime-spanning 30 games in one package on Xbox One. The package contains a crazy amount of classics from Rare's archive of hits, but if you dig a little deeper into the package, you may find something even more interesting.

In a section called "Rare Revealed," players can get a peek behind the curtain at some of the work that Rare has done that never saw store shelves. In addition to the canceled follow-up to Kameo: Elements of Power, players can also learn more about games like Tailwind, Sundown, The Fast and the Furriest, and Black Widow. The only caveat is that you must unlock them through extensively playing the games included in Rare Replay. You can check out quick looks at some of the unreleased games below.

Rare Replay releases tomorrow on Xbox One. If you'd like to read more about how the collection turned out, you can check out Kyle Hilliard's review or watch our Test Chamber. You can also see how the many games of Rare Replay scored when we reviewed them when they originally released.

Our Take
We've seen quite a few retro game collections over the past several years, and it's great to see Rare paying respects to its past in such an awesome way. Hopefully more studios will embrace projects that didn't quite work out in the end like Rare does with Rare Replay.
