WB Games Has No Update On Mortal Kombat X For Last-Gen Consoles

by Mike Futter on Jul 10, 2015 at 12:33 PM

We’re well into the summer, and there’s still no sign of Mortal Kombat X for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. When last we heard, those versions were delayed until some time during the warmer months.

The delay was announced in March, with High Voltage requiring more time to get the game ready on last-generation hardware. In May, GameStop (Disclaimer: GameStop is Game Informer’s parent company) changed the release date in its system to a placeholder of December 31, 2015. Since then Amazon, Best Buy, and Target have done the same.

When we reached out to WB Games when the retailers changed their dates, we did not receive a response. This week, we were told that the publisher has nothing more to say at this time. “We don’t have any updates to the comment that we provided a while back,” a company representative told us via email.

We’ll continue to monitor this and let you know as soon as the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of the game pop up on the radar.

Our Take
This doesn’t necessarily mean there’s bad news, but given that we haven’t heard anything in a while, we thought an update might be available. Until we hear definitively otherwise, Mortal Kombat X is still coming for Xbox 360 and PS3. We just don’t know when.
