Capcom’s Wearable Mega Man Helmet Lights Up, Won’t Let You Steal Powers

by Mike Futter on Jul 09, 2015 at 06:51 AM

Update: Pre-orders for the Mega Man helmet are now live. If you want one, it'll cost you $150 plus shipping.

The 14-inch helmet will ship this winter in time for the holidays. Pre-orders will only be open for a limited time, so if you want one of these you'd best make a decision quickly.

Original Story (June 8 at 8:53 a.m. Central):

Capcom is bringing a number of new collectibles to San Diego Comic Con this week. One of them will make your 8-bit (or zombie fighting) dreams come true.

While you won’t be able to purchase it, the upcoming Mega Man helmet pictured above will be on display at SDCC. It will be available for pre-order at a later date only via Capcom’s storefront.

The helmet is made of ABS plastic and features working LED lights. Capcom also reminds us that ThinkGeek (Disclaimer: ThinkGeek is owned by Game Informer parent company GameStop) sold a replica Mega Buster last year. It is sadly sold out, though.

Capcom will also be bringing a number of items for sale to SDCC. These include Street Fighter Ryu statues (in original white and “Evil” color scheme), Mad Catz Street Fighter fight stick (works with PS3 and PS4), a collector’s set of mini-Mega Man helmets in five different colors, and Monster Hunter gear (including Felyne onesies).
