Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition Getting 25-Hour Expansion

by Mike Futter on Jul 09, 2015 at 03:30 PM

After 17 years, Baldur’s Gate is getting a new expansion. Beamdog has announced that the updated version of the game, Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition, is due for a 25-hour add-on called Siege of Dragonspear.

The add-on, which was just shown for the first time on Beamdog’s Twitch channel, includes a number of enhancements. The original cast will be joined by four new adventurers. There are new areas to explore (and monsters that inhabit them), and when it’s all over, you can export your save to Baldur’s Gate II: Enhanced Edition.

Cross-platform multiplayer is supported, so you and up to five friends can take on the adventure together. For those that simply want to experience the story, a lower difficulty option is available to ease the challenge.

The expansion will be released first for PC, Mac, and Linux. Android and iOS versions will be available later as an in-app purchase. Regardless of platform, Siege of Dragonspear is priced at $19.99.
