Heroes Reborn Television Series Getting Mobile And PC/Console Games

by Mike Futter on Jul 08, 2015 at 08:00 AM

OK, so the first Heroes series went a bit off the rails at the end there. The plot got confusing, and the whole bit with the carnival was strange. But, if at first you don’t succeed, don your horn-rimmed glasses and try, try again.

This fall, NBC is giving the super-powered universe another shot with Heroes Reborn. Alongside it will launch two different games, one for mobile devices, and another for consoles.

Heroes Reborn: Gemini, the console and PC game, is a first-person adventure starring a character named Cassandra. Heroes Reborn: Enigma is a first-person puzzle game starring a super-powered character named Dahlia. The stories are self-contained, but there are character and narrative connections.

Both games are under development by Phosphor (WWE Immortals, Kinect Adventures: Space Pop) and Imperative Entertainment, of which Heroes executive producer Tim Kring is a co-founder. No screenshots or video are available yet, but a reveal is planned for the Heroes Reborn Comic Con panel on Sunday, July 12.

Heroes Reborn premieres on Thursday, September 24, at 8 p.m. Eastern.

Our Take
I’m interested to see what these games look like, but Phosphor doesn’t have extensive console experience. I want to be excited for this, especially since I stuck with Heroes until the bitter end. I need more information before I allow myself to be optimistic, though.
