Bloodborne Getting Scaling Multiplayer In New Patch

by Daniel Tack on Jul 06, 2015 at 12:00 PM

Patch 1.05 will be bringing new fixes to the game, but perhaps the most interesting thing found in currently available patch notes is the concept of scaling to the host when there's a significant level discrepancy between host and guest.

From the the update page:

Update 1.05 will be released right after the server maintenance.
The details on the update are as follows.

-If a player uses the Beckoning Bell or Small Resonant Bell while using a password, it will be clearly indicated that a password is in use.
-If the level difference between the host and the guest when matched using a password is large, the guest's stats will be adjusted to match the host's.
-Other bug fixes and matching improvements.

Our Take
This is an interesting concept, and while we don't know details on how exactly this works (and to be fair, we'll probably never have the exact details) but hopefully this will lead to more matching - and matching that's more appropriate.
