What’s 18-Inches Tall, Bright Green, And Wants To Stomp Optimus Prime?

by Mike Futter on Jun 25, 2015 at 11:47 AM

Last week, we were able to bring you hands-on impressions of the upcoming Generation 1-inspired Transformers: Devastation. If that’s something that made you smile as much as it made me grin, you might want to keep reading.

The current Transformers toy line is called “Combiner Wars.” Unlike the gestalts of years gone by, any of the compatible Deluxe size toys can be configured as an arm or a leg for the larger, Voyager figures.

Currently, you can get the Aerialbots to form Superion, the Protectobots to from Defensor, and the Stunticons to create Menasor. Bruticus, who was featured in Transformers: War for Cybertron, will be coming down the line, too.

However, there is one name missing: Devastator. Hasbro is releasing a mammoth 18-inch tall version of the original Transformers combiner.

He comes with all six of the Constructicons: Scrapper, Long Haul, Mixmaster, Hook, Bonecrusher, and Scavenger. They are designed in their traditional bright green and purple, but with added articulation, this Devastator puts the version you had as a kid to shame.

He’s available for pre-order now from Amazon and will ship in early August. Suggested retail price is $149.99. Transformers: Devastation will be out this fall for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PC.
