This Batman: Arkham Knight Launch Trailer Might Be Full Of Spoilers

by Mike Futter on Jun 22, 2015 at 03:34 AM

In video games, the obviously dangled narrative tidbits aren’t always what they seem. Let’s hope that’s the case with the Batman: Arkham Knight launch trailer.

The video is full of combat, quick cuts to different members of the rogue’s gallery, and the Dark Knight standing atop the city he protects. It’s the audio that hints at something particularly ominous.

The voiceover you hear is Commissioner Jim Gordon discussing the Batman as both symbol and person. If you don’t want to risk being spoiled, you can turn the audio off and just take in the sights. If you’re brave, crank it up and listen to the backing track from Muse.

This trailer follows a showing during Sony's E3 press conference, depicting the opening moments of the game. It was a curious choice, as the gameplay didn't include Batman at all, instead making the first part of the game a rehash for anyone starting to play tomorrow.

Batman: Arkham Knight is out tomorrow on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. For more, you can read our spoiler-free review
