Weekend Warrior

Weekend Warrior 06/05/2015

With the weekend comes the weekend warrior, and with this particular weekend warrior comes a lot of The Witcher 3. While the majority of Game Informer’s staff plans to sink some hours into CD Projekt Red’s massive RPG, both Jeffs and Kyle Hilliard also look forward to playing You Must Build A Boat in their spare time—their “non-Witcher time,” really.

What do you intend to play this weekend? Let us know in the comments.

Jeff Cork (@GIJeff) – My family's spending the weekend on some kind of camping-trip nonsense, which means I get the house to myself. Once again, I'm going to spend way too much time playing The Witcher 3. Geralt walks around outside a lot, and I'm controlling him, so it's kind of like being in the outdoors. Right? I've also downloaded You Must Build A Boat, and I suspect that's going be absorbing the rest of the time. I am a mess.

Matthew Kato (@MattKato) – With the news of Fallout 4, I may play Fallout: New Vegas – a game that I never played when it came out. Unfortunately, this will likely cut down on my time with The Witcher 3, which I hope to keep rolling on. I'm only level 4, but I hope I'm on the brink of breaking the game and story open a little more. I will also likely play more FIFA 15 this weekend. I recently played against some players from our NASL and future MLS team, Minnesota United FC, and was schooled – so there's plenty of stuff for me to practice.

Ben Hanson (@Yozetty) – This weekend I'm hoping to resist the easy fun of Splatoon in the name of playing more Witcher. I really like the few hours that I've sunk into the gigantic world of The Witcher 3 so far, and I'm hoping that I can just continue to ignore all of that crafting and alchemy nonsense in the menus. Other than that, I'll also probably play some ping pong and tennis. Have a good weekend!

Kyle Hilliard (@KyleMHilliard) – My house is looking less like a box fort after moving, and I've got some consoles hooked up. I'm hoping to pick Bloodborne and Witcher back up, but I'll probably just end up playing You Must Build a Boat while waiting for updates and never stop playing. Speaking of that game, I'll be doing an experiment this weekend to see if I can play it while mowing the lawn.

Jeff Marchiafava (@GIJeffM) – Despite having a clean slate last night for The Witcher 3, I somehow spent the entire evening playing You Must Build A Boat. If I get any gaming time this weekend, I vow to not touch my phone and get back to witching – I’ve finally got White Orchard cleared of side quests, so it’s time to move onto the next area!

Christian Belland (@ChrisFightsBear) – I’ll be playing a whole bunch of The Witcher 3. The game is just opening up for me now, so I can’t wait to explore the ridiculously dense open world. Helldivers also got a new patch a few days ago with some much-needed fixes. I’ll definitely be shooting some aliens (and teammates) this weekend, too.

Alissa McAloon (@Gliitchy) – This weekend, like almost every weekend, I'll be locked away in my room playing Destiny from sun up to sun down. Iron Banner, Destiny's once-a-month crucible event, is back again and offering fancy new gear to anyone willing to put some time in for it, which I most definitely am.

Hershall Cook (@HershallCook) – I know it’s the cliché choice right now, but I’m devoting the next two days to The Witcher 3. After starting a new game yesterday, I played for an hour and a half without beating the tutorial. That's a lot of content. (Or maybe I'm just really bad with the combat system, but either way my weekend is packed.)
