Currently announced only for Japan, Gematsu has a translated report from the the Monster Hunter meeting 2015. The game is due for release in Japan this winter and will include new super actions, weapons, moves, areas, and of course monsters. Monster Hunter X's base village is located the base of a snowy mountain and you will also be able to visit bases from previous Monster Hunter games, as well.

Our Take
I gave Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate a real shot, but the series still hasn't sunk its hooks into me. I'll probably give it another go, however, when and if X comes to North America.
