Weekend Warrior 05/29/2015

by Ben Reeves on May 29, 2015 at 02:00 PM

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has had some pretty nasty bugs, but our editors won't be deterred from diving into CD Projekt RED's massive fantasy world. What do you have on tap for the weekend? Share your plans with us in the comments below.

Jeff Cork (@GIJeff): This is depressingly easy. I'm planning to fire up The Witcher 3, settle in on the couch, and not move unless I absolutely have to. Reasons for moving include: 1) House is on fire 2) Child starts bleeding from face 3) Ceiling collapses on couch zone 4) Shame takes over. Send help.

Wade Wojcik (@WadeWojcik): I’m finally gonna see this Mad Max film everybody keeps talking about. Also going on epic quests with Geralt.

Brian Shea (@BrianPShea): This weekend, I’ll have an abundance of time, so I’ll be playing a ton of The Witcher 3 and Splatoon. During my breaks, I’ll probably flip on some MLB 15: The Show to continue my Road to the Show career, while peppering in some Destiny.

Kyle Hilliard (@KyleMHilliard): My wife and I became home owners recently, so we're still painting walls and drilling things, but I really want to play Splatoon's single-player campaign so I'm going to try and make some time for that. I might also mow the lawn, because that's a part of my life now.

Ben Hanson (@Yozetty): This weekend I'm really looking forward to playing more Splatoon and The Witcher 3. I was hesitant to start Witching last night since I knew it was such a gigantic experience ahead of me and I'm not in love with open-world western RPGs, but I'm a couple hours in now and madly in love with that game. I love it when a game blows me away like that and then I go back and have a whole new level of appreciation for the cover story trip that I went on years ago. It took me a while before I felt like I was helping out my team in Splatoon, but damn that game feels great to play. Other than that, I should probably prep for the podcast by playing some more of this Heroes of the Storm nonsense. Have a good weekend!

Tim Turi (@timturi): This weekend I’m preparing to move to a new place, so time for playing games may be few and far between. I would play Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, but I’m nervous about playing any more thanks to that nasty experience points-killing bug (thankfully it’s being fixed next week). Instead, I hope to continue my most recent playthrough of Shadow of the Colossus and maybe get some time with Splatoon.

Jeff Marchiafava (@GIJeffM): My gaming time has been completely enveloped by The Witcher 3; so far I’ve only killed a griffin, but I’m already hooked on exploring the world, discovering new side quests, and frantically killing those creepy mermen whenever they crawl out of the water. Any gaming time this weekend will be spent roaming the countryside.

Matthew Kato (@MattKato): Going to be playing as much Witcher 3 as possible before my save borks, I lose all XP, or it blows up my console, or whatever. I also just re-hooked up my PS3, so I'll probably go back and play some Metal Gear via the Legacy Collection. I also still have episodes of Life is Strange and Game of Thrones unfinished, so it would be good to bump one of those off easy.

Andrew Reiner (@Andrew_Reiner): SPLATOON! I’m playing that game. It’s fun. It reminds me of a Dreamcast game. The colors. The hub world. The humor. The characters. They all scream old-school Sega. Once I knock out Splatoon's campaign, which I highly recommend playing first, I’m finally going to watch American Sniper and a few more episodes of Black Sails.
