Three Men And A Green Herb Introduce Remastered Resident Evil 0

by Mike Futter on May 26, 2015 at 02:53 AM

After the success of the remastered Resident Evil in January, Capcom is diving deeper into definitive edition waters. The company announced today another Resident Evil title will be updated for current-gen, last-gen, and PC.

Resident Evil 0 was introduced by producer Tsukasa Takenaka and director Koji Oda, who received a ceremonial green herb from Resident Evil HD Remaster producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi. The update to the Resident Evil origin story is coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC in early 2016.

The original version was previously only available on Nintendo platforms. Resident Evil 0 was released in November 2002 on GameCube and December 2009 on Wii.

For more, you can watch an episode of Replay featuring the game.

Our Take
While this isn't the strangest announcement I've ever seen, it ranks up there. Looking past this oddity allows us to see Capcom bringing lauded games to new audiences. Given that Resident Evil 0 was only available on Nintendo systems, this will be the first time that some will be able to play it.
