Try Out Mortal Kombat X’s Jason Voorhees For Free This Weekend
Warner Bros. and NetherRealm are giving you a chance to check out the first of the four announced Mortal Kombat X DLC characters. Jason Voorhees, of Friday the 13th fame, has his own challenge tower this weekend.
The Premier tower allows you to take the Crystal Lake killer out for a spin. The six-match tower will give you two chances with each of the three styles.
Jason’s Slasher moveset focuses on his machete. The other two, Relentless and Unstoppable offer more nuanced play. Both are based on physical attacks and grapples, but Relentless allows you to teleport in a cloud of mist. It also has a “pursuit” move that robs opponents of the ability to dash and run (while also reversing their controls).
Unstoppable gives Jason two buffs. One amps his damage, and the other can regenerate health. He also resurrects after being defeated, with health restored based on his special meter.
