More Details On Star Wars Battlefront In First Dev Diary

by Matt Miller on Apr 20, 2015 at 11:11 AM

Hot on the heels of last week’s announcement of Star Wars Battlefront, DICE has provided GameStop and other game retailers a first look at a behind-the-scenes developer diary for the game.

The video discusses the remarkable detail the developer is pursuing in creating an authentic Star Wars experience. DICE has worked closely with LucasFilm in acquiring both visual and audio assets directly from the original films. In addition, the studio has visited many of the original filming locations from the movies to recreate landscapes that match the feeling of the films.

GameStop has the dev diary along with slots for subsequent videos on its dedicated Battlefront page. By pre-ordering through GameStop, players will gain access to the Battle of Jakku stage on December 1, which ties in to the upcoming Star Wars movie. Star Wars Battlefront is set for release on November 17 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Our Take
Battlefront made a big splash with its announcement, and I’m pleased to see how closely the developer is working with Lucasfilm. Our editor who attended the announcement event saw some of the game in action, and says that the attention to detail really shows.
