Take A Tour Of Star Wars Celebration

by Andrew Reiner on Apr 16, 2015 at 06:53 PM

Most of my day was dedicated to writing a Star Wars-related story that will post tomorrow afternoon, but I did get the chance to walk Star Wars Celebration's show floor for a couple of hours before it closed today. Never before have I seen so many toys and collectibles that I wanted to purchased. Never before have I come across a group of people that was so passionate about a fictional universe.

My day started in the arena packed with thousands of Star Wars fans screaming gleefully as Star Wars: The Force Awakens' cast was introduced, and ended with a 20-minute discussion with random people about the new movie trailer that J. J. Abrams and Kathleen Kennedy debuted at the Convention. I talked Star Wars all day long, and I can't wait to go back and do the same thing tomorrow.

I snapped a few photos as I took a tour of the show floor. Tomorrow I'll be seeing The Force Awakens Exhibit and will hopefully have a slew of new photos to share with you. For now, here's some of the cool, random, and wild stuff you can see at this year's show.

A cantina replica with people conducting interviews at the tables, and cosplayers acting at the bar

R2-D2 next to a replica landspeeder that apparently crashed into the fake set behind it

This astromech droid followed me around for a bit

There are dozens of droids stationed across the show floor

One of the big events is astromech racing. They also have mouse droid races

No matter where you are standing on the show floor, you can feel the gaze of the jawa in the doorway tearing into your soul

"I'll take the red one!"

This terrifying thing is probably roaming Anaheim's streets now, looking for brains to feed on

And in the near future, you can bring one home to your family!

Up next... Cars, toys, and Rebels

All of these helmets are new...except for the one where someone had half of their face eaten

Lego set up an exhibit to brag about all of the minifigures they have

Hallmark is all in on Star Wars. Going there for a "get well" card? Tough! Buy something Star Wars!

Star Wars Rebels' famous "Chopper" droid was in rare form today

Hasbro showed off a number of figures, including About-To-Fall-Over IG-88 and Wampa No Arm

All Nippon Airways is making an actual R2-D2 jet. Here's the prototype model

Star Wars Battlefront's booth and a guy drinking beer

The Star Wars rugs my wife doesn't know I purchased and plan to put in every room in our house

One of about 1,000 ridiculously expensive statues that I want to own

After dying, Darth Vader's corpse was turned into a car

Up next... More crazy stuff and cosplay!

A bunch of cosplayers who never moved and had metal poles jammed in uncomfortable places

See the "Please Don't Touch" sign? I waited 20 seconds and...

...a dude touched it!

Gentle Giant? I don't think so

The mash-up we always wanted

Here's a Force Awakens spoiler

This is where Harrison Ford was during the keynote

I stripped down to a weird space diaper for this photo op, but they said I had to leave

Cosplayers were out in full force

The coolest costume I saw
