Razer Unleashes The Black Widow Chroma Tournament Edition Keyboard

by Matt Bertz on Apr 16, 2015 at 09:01 AM

Mechanical keyboards are all the rage with pro gamers, which is why manufacturers like Razer are catering directly to this highly skilled and highly visible crowd.

The latest in a long line of Razer keyboards, the new Tournament Edition combines the signature backlit technology of the popular Black Widow Chroma that allows owners to customize their look with 16.8 million different color options. This compact version of the regular Chroma drops the number pad on the righthand side of the keyboard, features a detachable USB cord, and comes with a hard case – all decision make for the sake of portability. The all-new mechanical switches were designed with gamers in mind.

You can pick up the model today for $139 at the Razer website.

Our Take
I have the standard Chroma keyboard at home and love the mechanical keys. This slightly cheaper option should suffice for the majority of players provided you don't need the number pad for more conventional keyboard usage.
