Gung Ho Wants To Know Which Game Arts Titles You'd Buy On PC

by Mike Futter on Apr 15, 2015 at 09:31 AM

If you miss the days of Grandia and Lunar, your nostalgia might be satiated soon. Gung Ho Online Entertainment is exploring the possibility of porting some of Game Arts’ (its subsidiary) titles to PC.

The publisher has posted a survey that lists a number of titles, asking which (if any) games you’d be interested in. The list includes the following:

  • Alisia Dragoon
  • Dokuro
  • Grandia
  • Grandia II
  • Grandia III
  • Gungriffon
  • Gungriffon II
  • Gungriffon Allied Strike
  • Gungriffon Blaze
  • Lunar: Dragon Song
  • Lunar: Eternal Blue
  • Lunar: The Silver Star
  • Lunar: The Silver Star Story Complete
  • Lunar: Silver Star Harmony
  • Lunar 2: Eternal Blue Complete
  • The Magic Obelisk
  • Project Silpheed
  • Ragnarok Odyssey
  • Ragnarok Odyseey ACE
  • Silpheed
  • Silpheed: The Lost Planet
  • Thexder
  • Thexder 2
  • Zeliard

If you’re interested in your voice being heard, you can fill out the survey. Of course there’s no guarantee that any of these will happen, but if you have even the slightest desire for one or more of these titles, you should take a few minutes to share that information with Gung Ho.

Our Take
As preservation becomes a growing concern for the game industry, PC ports on Steam and other storefronts offer an easy way to keep older titles alive. While there are certainly costs in bringing old games to new platforms, the benefits often outweigh the expense (and return older IPs to relevancy).
