Bloodborne Sales Hit 1 Million, Load Time Patch On Track For This Month

by Mike Futter on Apr 14, 2015 at 06:18 AM

They say things come in threes. Bloodborne is the third game to celebrate a 1 million copy milestone today. Sony has announced the titles sales have crossed that threshold.

From Software is also delivering more news about the next patch (1.03). While this isn’t intended to be in celebration of the million-selling milestone, it’s certainly reason to celebrate nonetheless.

Patch 1.03 will reduce certain load times. For a game like Bloodborne that prides itself in the way it kills you and then kills you some more, getting us back on the hunt quickly will be welcome.

Sony and From Software have also shared an adjustment to maintenance times. Moving forward any server maintenance downtime will be scheduled for 1 a.m. Pacific on a non-Friday weeknight in order to minimize impact. During these times, online play will be disabled.

One other thing. If you have been taking advantage of that “easy mode” bug by leaving your game on for more than 12 hours, you’d best get your fill now. That’s going away in 1.03, also.

Our Take
While I’ve started to mitigate my fatalities, I do see that loading screen more often (and longer) than I like. I’m excited to hear that the proposed load time patch is in the works and coming at some point in the next couple of weeks.
