Director Michelle MacLaren Steps Away From Wonder Woman Movie

by Brian Shea on Apr 13, 2015 at 03:47 PM

The upcoming Wonder Woman film, which is set to star Gal Gadot as the Amazonian princess, has lost its director. Michelle MacLaren, who has worked on episodes for television shows such as Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, Game of Thrones, and more, has reportedly left the film over "creative differences" with Warner Bros.

MacLaren was brought on in November to make her feature directorial debut with Wonder Woman, but Warner Bros. today released the following statement: "Given creative differences, Warner Bros. and Michelle MacLaren have decided not to move forward with plans to develop and direct Wonder Woman together."

The detailed reasons for the split are not known at this point. Wonder Woman is set to hit theaters June 23, 2017. There is currently no word on if this change will affect that date.
